Business and IP

The structure behind each asset: business model, regulatory strategy, and intellectual property.

Business Model

Extentus develops each programme to deliver maximum partner value and structures each asset for a clean transaction. Development spend is concentrated at the formulation, translational PK, and clinical proof-of-concept stages; late-stage confirmatory work and commercial execution are partner-led by design.

Regulatory strategy

Where applicable, programmes are developed under the FDA 505(b)(2) pathway, permitting reliance on the established safety and efficacy record of an approved reference drug to support approval of a new long-acting formulation. Pathway selection is asset-specific and defined as part of each programme’s development plan.

Intellectual Property

Extentus develops IP independently of the active-ingredient patent position, targeting composition-of-matter protection covering the formulation and process protection covering manufacture. This creates a proprietary competitive position that is durable beyond generic entry and transferable as part of any transaction.
